Rad SFTP Applet
The Rad Inks Secure FTP applet is unique. It was the only one of it's kind at the time of it's release. While java based SFTP clients for the desktop are readily available (including our own stand alone version), applets are not widely used as network utilities.
A single license for thousands of users
Each license of the applet priced at $299.00 allows you to install the software on a single website. Installing the product on your intranet site would allow everyone in your organization to make use it. You could save thousands of dollars since most desktop clients have a per seat licensing model. If you have more than one site contact us for a volume discount.
If you are deploying Rad SFTP on a commercial website you can sign it with your own digital signature. In fact we encourage you to do so. talk to us and we will assist you. The applet distributed digitally signed with the Rad Inks signature.
Applets that work with files and remote servers are a rarity because they are placed in sandbox by the java virtual machine, which imposes certain restrictions on them.
Accessing the local file system and remote servers are actions that are restricted by this sandbox. These limitations can be overcome with the proper use of developer signatures and signed applets. Our SFTP applet is such a product.
The Safety Net
SFTP is all about security. All file transfers are encrypted, which is in stark contrast to FTP where even the username and password are sent over the wire in plain text. Our applet has been coded with security in mind and many would argue that code written in java is inherently safe. Specially when it's digitally signed. If you want to be doubly sure you can buy the source code license to confirm this fact.
Contact our sales team if you need to integrate our applet with your own applications, or would like to purchase the source code.
As long as java version 1.4.2 or higher is available no third party components are required on most platforms. The open source jsch library is included with the download.
If you are a Macintosh user:The Mac Run Time for Java (MRJ) does not include adequate support for ssl, you may need to install the sun JCE reference implementation available as a free download.
