DeadlineDue.com enables students, teachers and researchers to retrieve a Harvard reference citation by entering a book’s ISBN number or title. The site is soon expanding to include Harvard reference citations of Web sites.

Harvard reference citations are often error-prone when cited manually. With the launch of DeadlineDue.com’s Harvard reference citation for Web sites, students, researchers and teachers can easily reference works cited without error

DeadlineDue.com, a free Web-based tool from Rad Inks, has already made finishing an academic paper easier than ever by allowing users to retrieve a Harvard reference citation simply by entering the title or ISBN number of a book. Today, the site is expanding to allow users to enter a URL and receive a Harvard reference citation for any Web site.

When creating academic works such as research papers and theses, writers must properly credit the source of words or ideas they have drawn from other reports or papers. One method of doing so is the widely used Harvard Referencing System, also known as the author-date system. But creating a complete, accurate and properly formatted Harvard reference list has traditionally been a time-consuming process. To make matters worse students often leave this for last.

“Harvard reference citations are often error-prone when cited manually. With the launch of DeadlineDue.com’s Harvard reference citation for Web sites, students, researchers and teachers can easily reference works cited without error,” says Raditha Dissanayake, Chief Software Architect at Rad Inks.

DeadlineDue.com, launched earlier this year, makes this process fast, easy and error-proof. The Web site’s interface is clean and uncomplicated - users simply enter in the title or ISBN number of a book and the site generates a fully formed Harvard reference that may be copied and pasted into any document. In the event that a query produces multiple results, such as different editions of a book, DeadlineDue.com will display all found entries.

Rad Inks has announced the availability of a new version of Rad Upload; a widget that can be used to upload very large files easily to almost any webserver, even servers with limited memory and processing power.

Rad Upload is a multiple file uploader that is a drop in replacement for any existing file upload form. It is compatible with all the popular server side programming languages. This makes it possible for web developers to easily integrate the widget into existing web sites and web applications.

The new version of the product was created to improve it’s performance with browsers such as Chrome and Safari for windows that are fast gaining popularity. Rad Upload has always fully compatible with Internet Explorer for Windows, Firefox for Windows, Linux and and Apple OS X as well as Safari and Camino. In addition to being compatible with all popular browsers, it can be used with almost any server side technology as well and can be installed in Apache, IIS and other popular web servers. Most current users will be able to download the new version free of charge.

If a conventional HTML form is used for file uploads, and the upload gets interrupted for whatever reason, any data that has already been transferred will be discarded. When the upload is restarted, all the data, including the portion that was posted before the interruption has to be resent. In stark contrast when Rad Upload is used, it’s possible to resume an interrupted upload from where it was left off.

With the browse button of an HTML form only one file can be selected while the Rad Upload’s browse button allows multiple files and even folders to be selected. When a directory is chosen, the applet can easily transfer it’s entire contents and recreate the directory tree. To achieve the same effect using conventional methods, the user might himself having to click on the browse button hundreds or even thousands of times.

For most students, completing a research paper or thesis on time can be a daunting task, filled with stress and headaches. The citation process can be especially grueling. But for students who use the Harvard Referencing system, the process just got easier. Newly launched DeadlineDue.com, created by Rad Inks, now automatically generates Harvard References in just seconds. Ideal for teachers and professional researchers too, DeadlineDue.com is a virtual lifesaver for anyone who wants a hassle-free way to quickly, and accurately build their reference or works cited page, and deliver their research paper on time.

The Harvard Referencing System, also known as the author-date system is a citation system widely used at colleges and universities around the world, primarily in the sciences, and by scholarly and professional organizations. The system ensures that students, teachers and researchers credit the proper source when using the words and ideas of others in reports, essays and research papers. For most, completely and accurately citing all sources can be time consuming. Additionally, many students have difficulty remembering the correct formatting for the Harvard Referencing System. DeadlineDue.com eliminates the need to type out the entire citation, or remember the formatting, making the referencing process fast, easy and error proof.

To generate a Harvard Reference using DeadlineDue.com, users simply visit the website and enter the book title or ISBN number. Once the information is entered, the website returns the author, publishing date, title, publisher, and other information formatted according to Harvard Referencing standards, which can then be copied and pasted into the report. In the event a title is entered, and there is more than one edition, the program will deliver results for all editions.

DeadlineDue.com is a free, web-based tool. No registration or sign up is required. For more information, or to generate a Harvard Reference, visit DeadlineDue.com and enter the ISBN number or title.

We are pleased to announce the release of a new version of Rad SFTP, a widget used to transfer files securely between a user’s computer and a server. Unlike the more traditional File Transfer Protocol, with SFTP all data transfers are encrypted to ensure maximum protection of your data.

Rad SFTP runs in the browser, making it unnessary for the user to install any software on his computer. It’s rich feature set includes the ablity to upload and download entire folder trees, directory management and all other functionality expected of a File Transfer Program.

The widget is light weight and starts up almost instantly, yet it has all the features expected of a file transfer program. It has low resource consumption and a single installation of the software on a website can be made use of by any number of users.

The Rad Inks Secure FTP client makes use of the SSH FTP protocol, which despite the similarity in name with the File Transfer Protocol is a much more secure system. With FTP all the data and commands are transferred between the client and the server in plain text. Thus with FTP user names and passwords are transmitted in plain text without encryption. Security conscious webmasters and organizations are moving away from FTP and embracing more secure SFTP systems where all the commands and data are transferred with encryption.

We first released the Rad SFTP applet in 2003 and at the time the product was featured on the official Java website and received high ratings from many software reviewers. Since then we has made a series of other ground breaking products and many of them are being used on numerous fortune 500 companies.

Rad Inks (Private) Limited; the innovative software company based in Colombo, is Celebrating it’s fifth anniversary with discounts of up to 25% on their portfolio of software products.

Over the past few years, Rad Inks has released a series of ground breaking applets including Rad Upload. Rad Upload is the industry leading file upload solution. While conventional upload systems can tackle only a handful of files, this software can easily transfer thousands of file and folders with Giga bytes of data all at once.

Since it’s debut, Rad Upload has gained wide acceptance and it is currently used by tens of thousands of webmasters to build more user friendly websites. Web developers have found the advanced features of Rad Upload; such as client side image scaling can lead to significant reduction in development time for applications such as Photo and Video Galleries or Content Management Systems. The company plans to release a new version of this software to coincide with the anniversary.

Rad Upload was preceded by the Rad SFTP applet; a secure file transfer program which was highly rated when it was first released and went on to be featured on the official java website. The Rad SFTP client can be easily integrated with existing web sites and applications. The goal is to provide users of the web site a secure, convenient and familiar form of file management. It is a replacement for the more conventional FTP which is a protocol that is completely lacking in security.

The Rad Inks SFTP client makes use of the SSH FTP protocol, which despite the similarity in name with the File Transfer Protocol is a much more secure system. With FTP all the data and commands are transferred between the client and the server in plain text. Thus with FTP user names and passwords are transmitted without encryption. Security conscious webmasters and organizations are moving away from FTP and embracing the more secure SFTP where all the commands and data are transferred with encryption.

These and other products are used by numerous clients. The presence of a diverse range of clients in different spheres and geographic regions is ample testimony to the companies products.

Rad Inks has announced availability of Rad Upload 3.12, which makes it easier and faster for web developers to upload content to their web servers.

One of the most difficult aspects of designing a content management system or a file sharing application is to create the file upload component. With the new version of Rad Upload, the user can select any number of files and folders, drag them and drop them on her browser to start the upload.

However, if the files chosen contain more data than the webmaster is willing to process, the user will be immediately notified of the fact and the upload abandoned.

With traditional upload systems these safety checks are not available. Excess data can only be rejected at the server side. That means with conventional upload forms, the data is posted to the server regardless of it’s size.

Testing and possible rejection happens only afterwards, leading to an utter waste of time and bandwidth.

There are other ways in which the webmaster can make life easier for the user (and for himself) with this software. Specially if the web site is an image hosting or photo printing site. Many such sites only want images to be uploaded; Rad Upload can easily be setup to reject anything other than images.

Certain web applications that deal with images need to re-size them. the conventional approach is to upload the files first and re-size them on the server. Because images with large dimensions have large sizes, it takes longer to upload them. With Rad Upload, the images can be re-sized at the sending end, reducing the bandwidth consumption, upload time and the load on the server’s hardware. The other significant bandwidth saving measure is the software’s ability to compress files before the upload begins. This can lead to a reduction of upload times by 50-70% (depending on the content).

Follow this link to download the Lite Edition.

May 17, 2007 — Rad Inks has announced version 2.01 of the Rad SFTP Applet - a replacement for desktop FTP and Secure FTP clients. With the applet installed on an intranet, all the employees of the organization can make use of that single installation to manage files on remote servers leading to significant savings.

The Rad Inks Secure FTP client makes use of the SSH FTP protocol, which despite the similarity in name with the File Transfer Protocol is a much more secure system. With FTP all the data and commands are transferred between the client and the server in plain text. Therefore with each FTP connection the user name and password will be transmitted without any encryption. Security conscious webmasters and organizations are moving away from FTP and embracing the more secure SFTP where all the commands and data are encrypted before being transmission.

Because the Rad SFTP applet runs in the context of the web browser, anyone using the system does not need to install any software on his own computer. Since the applet is light weight it starts up almost instantly and can rival the start up speed of a desktop client.

It’s low in resource consumption and has all the features commonly found on desktop SFTP and FTP clients. These factors make it a suitable replacement for desktop file transfer programs. It’s user interface is the familiar two table layout common with file management software. As a result a user does not need to make any adjustment when switching over to this Secure software.

Rad Inks first released the Rad SFTP applet in 2003 and at the time the product was featured on the official Java website and received high ratings from many software reviewers. Since then Rad Inks has made a series of other ground breaking products and many of them are being used on numerous Fortune 500 companies.

Rad Inks has announced version 2.0 of the Rad SFTP Applet with several feature enhancement. The Rad SFTP applet is a replacement for desktop FTP and Secure FTP clients. When it is installed on an intranet, all the employees of the organization can make use of that single installation manage files on remote servers.

The Rad Inks Secure FTP client makes use of the SSH FTP protocol, which despite the similarity in name with the File Transfer Protocol is a much more secure system. With FTP all the data and commands are transferred between the client and the server in plain text. Thus with FTP user names and passwords are transmitted without encryption. Security conscious webmasters and organizations are moving away from FTP and embracing the more secure SFTP where all the commands and data are transferred with encryption.

Because the Rad SFTP applet runs with in the web browser an end user of the system does not need to install any software on his own computer. Because the applet is light weight it starts up almost instantly and can rival the start up speed of a desktop client. It’s low in resource consumption and has all the features commonly found on desktop SFTP and FTP clients. Because only one single license of the product would be needed by most organizations it’s cost is much less when compared to desktop clients.

Rad Inks first released the Rad SFTP applet in 2003 and at the time the product was featured on the official Java website and received high ratings from many software reviewers. Since then Rad Inks has made a series of other ground braking products and many of them are being used on numerous fortune 500 companies.
