Rad Upload Version 4.02 Released
We are pleased to announce a new version of their Rad Upload Applet; a widget that can be used to upload very large files easily to almost any webserver, even servers with limited memory and processing power.
Rad Upload is a multiple file uploader that is a drop in replacement for any existing file upload form. It is compatible with all the popular server side programming languages. This makes it possible for web developers to easily integrate the widget into existing web sites and web applications.
If a conventional HTML form is used for file uploads, and it gets interrupted for whatever reason, any data that has already been uploaded will be discarded. When the upload is restarted, all the data, including the data that was posted before the interruption has to be resent. In stark contrast with Rad Upload it’s possible to resume an interrupted upload from where it was left off.
With the browse button of an HTML form only one file can be selected while the Rad Upload’s browse button allows multiple files and even folders to be selected. When a directory is chosen, the applet can easily transfer it’s entire contents and recreate the directory tree. To achieve the same effect using conventional methods, the user might himself having to click on the browse button hundreds or even thousands of times.
Most current license holders of Rad Upload and Rad Upload Plus can download the current version free of charge.
